How to create a memorable unboxing experience? In this episode I enjoyed talking with Evelio Mattos. Evelio is an American designer born in Colombia. He is creative director at GetUNBOXD in Arizona and a contributing editor at Dieline, the world’s most recognized packaging design blog.
Evelio specializes in structural packaging design for clients that include such luxury brands as Bulgary, DKNY, Carolina Herrera, Michael Kors and Tesla.
He believes that the goal of successful packaging is to guide the consumer to the product and leave a lasting impression through a memorable unboxing experience.
He is the author of the book “Packaging & Dielines”, the result of his extensive knowledge of production processes and various packaging materials. He has recently launched his podcast Package Design Unboxd.
In this episode I had the opportunity to learn why brands should design honest boxing experiences. I was also able to understand what happens when consumers, brands and designers merge and it told me what questions we should ask ourselves to design sustainable packaging.
